Introducing St. Joseph Parish Interim Finance Committee:
As the parish moves forward to create a collaborative leadership model, an Interim Finance Committee was formed to assist in finalizing the parish budget for 2012 and to advise the Core Team on finances and resource management in the parish until Sept 2012. The Fall of 2012 will be the launch of the collaborative leadership model and the Interim Finance Council will transfer all their work and recommendations to this model and the team of ministers who will carry on their work.
The Interim Finance Council consists of Joe Gauthier, Jason Jacques, Erin Ryan, Christine Burton, John Cuddihy, and Richard Masalu alsong with the Core Team ( Andy Boyer, OMI, Pastor and Mary Murphy, Pastoral Director) and Chris Adam who is acting as facilitator for the parish staff since the contract for the former position of Director of Administration was not renewed.
The Interim Finance Committee is meeting weekly to ensure that the budget is prepared for Parish Council to review on February 14th at which time, the Core Team will report back to the parish after consultation.
As we move forward, the Interim Finance Committee along with the Parish Council will begin to keep the parish informed on its financial status through weekly reports created by staff. You will notice that the weekly collection numbers are now being reported with the weekly budgetary needs of the parish. Along with the number of Parishioners attending mass that weekend.
You may find it interesting to note that although there are roughly 600 people who attend here on a weekend that only 290 use envelopes, direct deposit or donate on line or through United Way for their weekly contributions. If you would like to start formalizing your contribution, you can pick up a set of envelopes at the church entrance, or sign up for auto debit at the church entrance.
